If you are unwell or think you may have a medical emergency, call 000 or see a doctor. Hijāma is not an emergency or urgent care service.
Hijāma is a complementary practice
Dar Al-Shifā offers Hijāma (wet cupping) as a traditional practice rooted in the Sunnah and as a complementary wellness therapy. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, advice or treatment from a qualified health professional.
- We do not diagnose, treat or claim to cure any disease or medical condition.
- Please do not stop, delay or change any prescribed treatment because of Hijāma. Always speak with your doctor first.
- Individual experiences vary, and no particular outcome is promised.
Who should seek medical advice first
Hijāma is not suitable for everyone. Please speak with your GP before booking if you have a bleeding or clotting disorder or take blood-thinning medication; have anaemia, diabetes, a heart condition or very low blood pressure; are undergoing cancer treatment; have a skin condition, wound or infection in the treatment area; or have recently had surgery.
Every session begins with a consultation. Please tell us about your health and any medications honestly. If Hijāma isn’t appropriate for you, we will not proceed.
